During the NLA National Conference, many landlords enquired about how to report their rent to the Valuation Office Agency (VOA).  The VOA helps local authorities determine average rents in their area which is then used to determine local housing allowance payments.  We issued some advice for landlords on how they can report their rents.

The NLA decided to make the homeless charity Crisis our Christmas beneficiary for 2011.  We donated enough money for Crisis to provide 50 places for homeless people over the festive period, helping provide them with hot food, clothing, health checks and good company.

With house prices expected to drop by up to 5% this year and many homeowners considering letting out their properties rather than selling, we issued some tips for would-be landlords who are considering letting for the first time.

And finally, the NLA was mentioned in the Daily Mail in an article on how to let out your property without using an agent.  You can read the article here.
