Fiaz Rashid

Local Representative

Fiaz has extensive experience of being a landlord over many years, including the private, social & student sectors.

Aside from his interest in property, Fiaz has been busy over the years with a wide range of personal and professional interests, including being a director of a local community centre, which is a very demanding yet rewarding role. His staple employment for more than fifteen years has been lecturing in further & higher education.

Furthermore Fiaz has held a number of public appointments, including being appointed Director of a multi-million pound regeneration company; he has also sat on the Government Office for Yorkshire & Humber’s region advisory panel for the Black and Minority Ethnic Voluntary & Community Sector, as well as other high profile public roles.

Fiaz has particular experience of the West Yorkshire housing and rental market, and believes that the current market offers some real opportunities for landlords to widen their portfolios – however, there are also risks in an uncertain market, and all investments should be undertaken on a calculated basis.

Fiaz’s focus within his role at the NLA is to develop NLA Branches in Bradford, Kirklees, Wakefield and Calderdale, and he is looking forward to developing excellent networks which include all local stakeholders, including local authorities, estate agents, private landlords, tenants associations, and anyone with an interest in increasing the professionalism of all landlords in the region.
