Garry was in the financial services for the 35 years with the last 10 years specializing as a mortgage broker dealing with investors/landlords. He purchased his first buy to let property almost 10 years ago with his business partner. Over the years they have built up a portfolio of 18 properties mainly let to tenants who are claiming Local Housing Allowance.

Coming from a highly regulated professional background with 'mountains of compliance' to adhere to Garry knew the importance and benefit of having a professional body behind him. He says joining the NLA was one of the smartest moves he made in the early days of being a landlord - due to the fantastic NLA Advice Line.

Garry joined the North West Local Representative Team in August 2010 and is looking forward to building on the great work already done by Regional Representative Tom Reynolds in the North West Region.
