Ken Staunton

Head of Regions

Ken.staunton@landlords.org.uk

Ken Staunton has been a landlord in the Southampton area since June 2006, while he and his wife Susan have been running a B&B in Winchester for twelve years.

An ex-parish councilor, he is still very active in his local community (Compton and Shawford, just south of Winchester). Ken studied sociology at Goldsmiths College, London, and started his career as a science teacher in Peckham, but he swiftly moved into sales and has worked for Procter and Gamble, IBM, and other computer companies for three decades. He was an International Sales Manager for six years before starting his own specialist Health and Safety company in 2002.

On becoming a landlord in 2006, Ken was soon an enthusiastic member of the NLA. He became the local NLA Representative for Hampshire in 2009 and Head of Regions in 2011. He is particularly interested in working with local authorities throughout the country on programmes to improve the general standard of private residential property, supporting landlords in their struggle against unreasonable bureaucracy, and in ensuring that NLA members make the most of NLA’s uniquely diverse and extensive package of products and services.
