Chip pan fire campaign

from "UK Landlord" magazine, March 2007

Homestamp, a West Midlands-based grouping of professionals dealing with private-rented sector issues is planning a new campaign for landlords and tenants in the private-rented sector to prevent chip pan fires.

The only body of its type in the country, the group is made up of landlords, local authorities from throughout the region, as well as representatives from the West Midlands Fire Service and West Midlands Police. Its Vice-Chair is Mary Latham, who is also the newly appointed chair of the NLA Midlands. Homestamp has produced guides for landlords and tenants on areas such as building regulations, fire safety and licensing, and aims to position landlords as key players to make sure everyone works together.

For more information about the Homestamp Consortium, see www.homestamp.com.
