Scottish Parliament logo In the run up to the Scottish Parliamentary and Welsh Assembly Elections on 3rd May, the National Landlords Association outlines how the Scottish Executive and Welsh Assembly can encourage the development of the private rented sector to better meet the housing needs of Scotland and Wales.

The private rented sector provides essential housing for a variety of people. It provides homes for students, young professional people, key workers and foreign nationals (many of whom are doing essential work in the UK). It houses individuals on housing benefit. Increasingly, local authorities are looking to the private-rented sector to supplement their own provision of homes for people they have a duty to house.
