Low-cost paint scheme
from "UK Landlord" magazine, March 2007
A new pilot scheme in Newark aims to offer leaseholders and council tenants low-cost paint.
The social enterprise project collects usable, safe and clean materials from local industry and individuals and sells them on to community groups and those in need at a low cost. The project focuses on reusing unwanted domestic paint.
The new partnership with Newark and Sherwood Homes offers surplus paint at 50p a litre to tenants on benefits, enabling them to decorate their homes on a tight budget whilst also preventing surplus paint from
being sent to landfill.
