Accreditation Scheme launched in Midlands
from "UK Landlord" magazine, July 2007
NLA Midlands Regional Representative Mary Latham has launched the Midland Landlords Accreditation Scheme (MLAS) in Birmingham which aims to accredit landlords throughout the Midlands. Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell and now Birmingham are part of the scheme.
The Birmingham Scheme is organised by the NLA in conjunction with the University of Birmingham , Birmingham University Guild of Students , West Midlands Police , and West Midlands Fire and Rescue .
The seminars run from 9.30 am to 7.00 pm and, because they are being subsidised by Birmingham City Council , they only cost delegates £60 per day. The course stated in May and saw 160 landlords attending the day-long seminars, run by Mary who has experience as a training provider for seminars on the London Landlords Accreditation Scheme. The landlords will soon be accredited at a ceremony to celebrate the scheme's launch and a list of accredited landlords will be published
online.
