Homestamp consortium set out future objectives
from "UK Landlord" magazine, July 2007
Homestamp has set out its objectives for the next three years.
Homestamp is a Midlands consortium of representatives from the West Midlands Police, fire services, local authorities, landlords associations, several universities and student guilds all of whom work together to address problems in the private-rented sector. Mary Latham, the NLA's Regional Representative for the West Midlands, is the current Vice-Chair of the group.
The consortium's 3-year plan includes the following initiatives:
- a publicity campaign to reduce fires caused by the use of candles and chip pans
- increased access to tenancy support for tenants living in the private-rented sector to reduce anti-social behaviour
- to continue to provide information and maintain standards across the private-rented sector
- to ensure the Homestamp publication, Fire Protection in Multi-Occupied Residential Properties, is updated with current practices and equipment
- to develop private sector leasing to provide accommodation for the accommodation.
