New Planning rules up for discussion
from "UK Landlord" magazine, July 2007
The Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) published suggestions for reforms of the planning system in its Planning White Paper in May.
The White Paper is seen as a follow-up to recommendations made in the Barker Reports on Review of Land Use Planning and Housing Supply which called for the planning system to give appropriate weight to the economic benefits of development, to be more responsive to changing circumstances, and to deliver planning decisions in a more transparent
and timely manner.
