Six more councils join the NLA
from "UK Landlord" magazine, July 2007
Redditch Borough Council, Worcester City Council, Malvern Hills District Council, North Dorset District Council, South Shropshire District Council and Dacorum Borough Council are the latest local authorities to opt for membership of the NLA.
As David Salusbury mentions in his article in this issue, the NLA sees relations with local authorities as being central both to its strategy of building a professional body for landlords in the privaterented sector and to safeguarding their interests across the country.
Local NLA representatives - Julie Woolfenden, Alastair Graham, James Fraser and Richard Price - also expressed their enthusiasm: "Part of our remit is to work for improved links with local authorities and to increase co-operation between them and their local landlords.
It is obviously very gratifying when local councils feel that the next step is to become an associate member of the NLA and to avail themselves of the expertise on the private-rented sector that we are able to offer," said Richard Price.
