Guaranteed Rent, No Empty
Periods
and No Hassle!
from "UK Landlord" magazine, November 2007
Property writer and consultant David Lawrenson [blog ] explains how landlords can get a guaranteed rent for up to 5 years with no agents' fees to pay and no voids.
Did you know you can you can lease your property to a housing association, local authority or other third party provider working for a local authority - who then sublets it for you to people on their housing waiting list? And since it is ultimately the government that is paying the money, there is no chance of default either.
Lease periods depend on the local authority and local housing needs but periods of 2 or 3 years are commonly used.
