Grants urgently need to be used in Hammersmith and Fulham

NLA members who own an empty property in the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham can take advantage of a grant of up to £20,000 per unit of accommodation to refurbish the property. All bedroom sizes are eligible for these grants.

The refurbishment money needs to be spent before the end of March 2009 and once the property has been modernised it must be leased via the Council or a Housing Association for five years. The borough will provide landlords who take up this offer:

• free full management and minor repair service.
• guaranteed rents for 52 weeks a year for the full five years.
• guaranteed vacant possession at the end of five years.
