Information packs for landlords in Wrexham
from "UK Landlord" magazine, September 2008
Landlords in the Wrexham area who are in touch with the County Borough Council's Housing Standards and Strategy department will soon receive an information pack.
The landlord packs are geared at private-rented sector landlords, and the aim is to provide comprehensive information so that landlords are equipped with all the relevant knowledge to manage their rental properties to high standards.
Wrexham's Principal Housing Standards & Strategy Officer Mike Jenkins told UK Landlord that the packs will be going to landlords who attend the Landlord Forums.
"Landlords like Julie Woolfenden of the NLA who attend the Forums are keen to keep their landlord knowledge up-to-date. I hope the packs will support them in our shared goals to keep living standards high in the private-rented sector in Wrexham," he said.
The packs contain information on a variety of landlord-related issues.
One of the first documents landlords will see is the NLA's Landlord Development Manual. The pack also includes information about tenancy deposit schemes, fire safety and prevention of carbon monoxide poisoning, HMO licensing, renting to asylum seekers and refugees, and what constitutes harassment and illegal eviction.
The landlord packs are presented in attractive and practical A4 ring binders which can be updated with the latest information that the Housing Standards and Strategy department will send out, for example, on Local Housing Allowance levels.
If you are interested in receiving the landlord pack or attending the next Landlord Forum in November, contact the Wrexham Housing Standards Team on
