Do you have property, or are you thinking of buying, in the Newlands Road/Avenues area of Hull?

If so, you need to know what the Local Authority is considering in respect of restrictions on privately rented property.

Hull City Council recently proposed that an ‘Article Four Direction’ be introduced in this area following complaints from local residents about noise, abandoned rubbish and general anti-social behaviour. ‘Article Four Directions’ restrict how a property may be used and can have a significant impact on a landlord’s business.

However, Councillors are keen to find an alternative to this policy and have provided landlords with an opportunity to identify other ways to tackle issues often associated with rented property. 

The NLA does not support the use of ‘Article Four Directions’ to tackle anti-social behaviour and wishes to work with individual landlords and the local authority to provide constructive solutions – but to do this we need your help.
