Do you let any of your properties to 3 or more tenants? If the answer is yes then you let a shared house or House in Multiple Occupation (HMO).

Milton Keynes Council is proposing to limit the number of shared housing by requiring planning permission for all new HMOs.

To oppose this unnecessary move, the NLA is running a local campaign to oppose this Direction so please support us by clicking on the link below and registering your opposition with your local Member of Parliament.

We have also arranged a special meeting at the Abbey Hill Golf Centre, Monks Way, Milton Keynes for members who either have or are thinking about buying property in Milton Keynes. You will hear from representatives of the Council on why they have decided to apply for these powers and how they anticipate it will affect landlords and residents.

Many landlords were unaware of the proposal so this meeting will allow landlords, students and residents an opportunity to understand the wider implications of the move prior to a final decision being made. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and make local Councillors aware of your views.
