NLA Oxford Special Branch Meeting
Event Overview:
Do you let any of your properties to 3 or more tenants? If the answer is yes then you let a shared house – a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO).
Oxford City Council is proposing to limit the number of shared housing by requiring planning permission for all new HMOs in certain parts of the city.
To oppose this unnecessary move, the NLA is running a local campaign to oppose this Direction so please support us by clicking on the link below and registering your opposition with the decision-maker at Oxford City Council.
We have also arranged a special meeting on Wednesday 4 May at 7pm pm at Oxford Spires Four Pillars Hotel, Abingdon Road, Oxford, OX1 4PS for landlords who either have or are thinking about buying property in Oxford. You will hear from representatives of the Council, Ed Turner, on why they have decided to apply for these powers and how they anticipate it will affect landlords and residents. NLA Representatives, David Kybett, NLA Regional Representative for Oxford and David Cox, NLA Policy Officer will also be at this meeting.
Many landlords were unaware of the proposal so this meeting will allow landlords, students and residents an opportunity to understand the wider implications of the move prior to a final decision being made. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and make local Councillors aware of your views.
We hope that as many landlords as possible will come along to fully understand the implications for them and let the Council know their views. In order to try and make sure we have a room large enough to accommodate the number of people attending could you kindly confirm your attendance by clicking the 'book now' box.
If you would like a question asked at the meeting but do not wish to do it personally you may email david.kybett@landlords.org.uk
and we will endeavour to make sure it is asked.
