Local Housing Allowance Rates
All landlords who take LHA Tenants should now know that the Government intends to reduce the LHA rates from the median level to the 30 percentile level in 2011.
The Valuation Office (formerly The Rent Service) are responsible for collecting data on what local private sector rent levels are. This data is then collated and used in determining the Local Housing Allowance (LHA) rates. The more information the Valuation Office have on current rent levels in the PRS the better, as if rents are rising - as they are purported to be - then the higher the LHA 30 percentile rates will be.
Therefore, to all Shropshire Landlords; you can help the Valuation Office to help you, by notifying them of your current rents for those tenants who do not claim LHA.
