Introduction to Subject

The days of the amateur landlord are over.  He or she will need to manage their affairs in a professional manner in order to succeed. Today's landlord has to be aware of an ever-increasing legislative framework within which he or she will have to operate. There are more changes to come over the horizon and  professional landlords will have to adapt their commercial decisions in order to be flexible enough to take account of changes in the legal landscape as and when they are implemented either as primary or secondary legislation.  This module, while not attempting to be exhaustive on the whole of the civil law relevant to the running of a property business, will seek to cover the main areas most relevant to a landlord in the day-to-day decision making process.
